Method & assumptions

Use all ten responses, including the official reverse scoring, to obtain a raw total from 0 to 40. Convert through the CFPB standard scorecard using age group and administration mode. Do not average responses or substitute a percentage.

Hypothetical worked example

Selecting the middle response for every item yields a raw total of 20; for a self-administered questionnaire at age 18–61, the converted score is 50.

Scope and limitations

  • User-entered planning assumptions, not verified market data or a professional determination.
  • For adults aged 18 or older. Every response is required; no score is imputed. This measures reported financial well-being, not creditworthiness, eligibility, clinical diagnosis or employer performance. No employer reporting or cohort aggregation is provided.
